Bermuda Hospitals Board is the island’s second largest employer, with nearly 1,800 staff members. We serve Bermuda’s resident population of approximately 64,000 people, as well as the many visitors who come to our island each year.
Composed of more than 100 individual islands, Bermuda has a land mass of about 21 square miles. Given our relatively isolated geographic location in the Atlantic Ocean, the Bermuda community needs a range of services far broader than would commonly be expected of a hospital serving a similar population base.
These services are provided by full-time, part-time, locum and casual staff from Bermuda and around the world. Our teams work in a broad range of fields: from acute care to allied health, from community mental health to chronic disease management, from human resources to information technology, from facilities management to environmental services.
Our patients are also served by our internal and external volunteers, and our summer students.
