Public Advisory: Lamb Foggo Urgent Care Centre open over Cup Match

Friday 28 June 2023: The Lamb Foggo Urgent Care Centre (UCC) will open from 12pm to 8pm on Thursday 3 August and Friday 4 August 2023. It will also be open on its regular weekend hours of 9am to 9pm on Saturday 5 August and Sunday 6 August 2023.

Bermuda Hospitals Board wishes the public a safe and happy Cup Match holiday. We remind you not to drink and drive, and advise you to adhere to the rules of the road.

“In particular, we implore you to observe the speed limit and always wear your seat belt,” said Chief of Emergency Dr Chikezie Dean Okereke.

If you are in the East end and sustain a minor injury, you should attend the UCC. If you have a major injury, a suspected heart attack and/or stroke, you should attend the Emergency Department at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital (KEMH) or call 911.

Clinicians at both the UCC and the KEMH Emergency Department attend to people based on the severity of their condition. The chart below gives some guidance on approximate wait times.

Sunday 2 July 2023: Due to staff shortages, the Lamb Foggo Urgent Care Centre (UCC) will be closed today, Sunday 2 July 2023.

Bermuda Hospitals Board apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.

Friday 30 June: The public is advised that the Lamb Foggo Urgent Care Centre will open from 3pm-9pm on Sunday 2 July 2023. This is unfortunately due to a shortage of staff.

Update Wednesday 19 July: The UCC is open from 9am-9pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

Extended – week day evening hours only at the Lamb Foggo Urgent Care Centre

Wednesday 2 February 2022:  Bermuda Hospitals Board today announces that the change in hours at the Lamb Foggo Urgent Care Centre (UCC) will continue to the end of February at which time it will be re-assessed.

The UCC is currently open from 6pm to 10pm Monday to Friday and 9am -9pm on Saturday and Sunday. The move to evening hours only on weekdays, was to assist with ensuring adequate staffing levels are available in the Emergency Department at KEMH.

Dr Chikezie Dean Okereke, Chief of Emergency, comments: “The temporary change in the weekday hours implemented last month has helped. As we remain under the same pressures the decision was made to extend the current hours until the end of this month.”

Judy Richardson, Chief of Nursing, comments: “ The reduced UCC hours allow us to redeploy a full time nurse back to the ED which assists in delivering care where the most unwell people are in need.”

Lamb Foggo Urgent Care Centre resumes normal hours

Monday 18 October 2021: Bermuda Hospitals Board announced today a resumption of normal operating hours at the Lamb Foggo Urgent Care Centre (UCC). Effective Tuesday 19 October hours will return to 2pm-10pm on weekdays. Weekend hours did not change and remain 9am-9pm. . Last patient registration will be at 9:45pm during the weekdays and 8:45pm Saturday and Sunday.

X-ray service at the UCC will resume on Monday 18 October and continue as it did previously – on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays during opening hours.

“We urge those with minor injuries and illnesses that are not COVID-19 related to attend the UCC,” said Dr Chikezie Dean Okereke, Chief of Emergency. “The UCC should not be used to replace the care of your GP. Where possible, individuals should seek care first from their GP. In instances where this is not possible, patients should follow up with their GP after their UCC visit.”

Bermuda Hospitals Board Advisory: Lamb Foggo Urgent Care Centre hours this weekend

Friday 2 March 2018: Bermuda Hospitals Board is working closely with Emergency Measures Organisation representatives and the Bermuda Weather Service as the storm expected this weekend approaches.  Should the causeway close, staff are on stand-by to open the Lamb Foggo Urgent Care Centre (UCC). If the causeway does not close, normal operating hours for the UCC will be followed from noon to midnight on Saturday and Sunday.
