Jerome Swainson Appointed as Hotel Services Manager

Bermuda Hospitals Board today announces the appointment of Bermudian Jerome Swainson to the position of Hotel Services Manager, starting today. The position is responsible for Environmental Services (Housekeeping), Food Services and Laundry at Bermuda Hospitals Board. Mr Swainson will report to the Chief Operating Officer (KEMH), Susan Labus.

Mr Swainson’s experience encompasses hotel operations, restaurants and guest relations. He joins BHB from the Tucker’s Point Hotel and Spa Hotel where he was Assistant Manager/Guest Services Manager, responsible for the daily Front of House operations. Mr Swainson’s prior experience also includes eight years at the Fairmont Southampton Bermuda as Director of Resort Activities, three years as Guest Services Manager at the Canadian Pacific Fairmont Southampton, two years as general Manager at Kids and Other Services and fourteen years as Assistant General Manager at the Mid-Ocean Club.

They might not be a clinical service, but from the food you eat, to the cleanliness of your room and linens, they touch every patient and visitor to our facility. Mr Swainson is a highly qualified and welcome addition to the team.”

Mr Swainson attended Warwick Academy and Acadia University. His qualifications include reaching Diploma level through the American Hotel & Motel Association and a Certified Food & Beverage Executive designation. He is a retired Company Commander of the Bermuda Regiment (Captain) and had extensive training at The Royal Military Academy, Sandehurst and Warminster, The School of Infantry.
