Acting CEO Earns Board Certification in Healthcare Management

Bermuda Hospitals Board (BHB) is pleased to announce that Acting CEO, Venetta Symonds, has successfully achieved the Certified Healthcare Executive (CHE) credential through the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). This international professional society represents close to 30,000 healthcare executives and aims to improve the health status of society by advancing healthcare leadership and management excellence.

This board certification is an established professional credential for executives, proving their broad understanding of subjects related to healthcare, including management, diversity, finance and legal issues. Requiring course attendance, examinations, and participation in voluntary healthcare and community affairs, about 6,000 healthcare executives globally hold this Diplomate status in ACHE.

Anthony Richardson, Chairman of BHB comments: “On behalf of the Board, I commend Venetta for this achievement. We are proud to support BHB senior managers in furthering their healthcare and executive skills, as this improves our ability as an organization to improve patient care in Bermuda. As a member of the BHB senior management team, this also demonstrates that Venetta is prepared to lead by example and show how much can be achieved by a Bermudian committed to her profession. I commend Venetta for the CHE credential and hope this inspires other staff members to strive for personal excellence through continued education.”
