Bermuda Hospitals Board today announces the appointment of Mr R. Scott Pearman as its new Chief Business Development Officer, effective 1 April 2010.

The Chief Business Development Officer position provides research and business development skills at a senior level for Bermuda Hospitals Board in order to help develop the highest quality of health services to meet Bermuda’s long term health needs. Mr Pearman is also the Chief Operating Officer for Inter-Island Communications Limited.

“I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Pearman to the position of Chief Business Development Officer,” comments David Hill, Chief Executive Officer. “This is an extremely important position in senior leadership that requires the ability to strategise and build business cases for health services in line with Bermuda’s health needs. Previously, we required an overseas consultant from Kurron to fill this position. Thanks to the Succession Planning programme implemented by BHB last year, we have been able to identify and develop Bermudians with the potential to succeed in senior leadership role. Mr Pearman’s promotion is a result of that process.”

Ianthia Simmons Wade, Kurron Bermuda´s Vice President for Operations, says: “Kurron is committed to working with the BHB to develop and support Bermudians through the BHB´s Succession Planning Program to assume leadership positions with the Bermuda Hospitals Board.”

Mr Pearman has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Rhode Island and a Masters of Labour Relations & Human Resources from Michigan State Unversity and has a Professional Human Resources Certification.
