Friends of Hospice and Bermuda Hospitals Board Host Agape Open House

Bermuda Hospitals Board and Friends of Hospice will mark Palliative Care Month by hosting an Agape Open House tomorrow, November 14, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.

Staff will provide tours and members of the public are invited to attend and learn about hospice care and the services offered at Agape House.

Serving as Bermuda’s only inpatient hospice, Agape House was opened in 1991 and provides care to hundreds of terminally ill patients and their families.

The twelve-bed property, located at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital (KEMH), offers physical, psychological, social, and spiritual care in a home-like, relaxed and supportive environment.

Staffed by healthcare professionals certified in palliative care, treatment focuses on living and provides individualized attention.

Friends of Hospice is a registered charity providing volunteer and fundraising support to Agape House.

Agape House is located up the hill and across from the front lobby at KEMH.

· Referrals to Agape House are accepted from physicians, the Hospital and PALS.
