Community Urged to Attend Town Hall Meeting

The Bermuda Hospitals Board (BHB) is holding another community town hall meeting to present the key findings of its estate master plan review, as well as options to address the hospitals’ needs.

The meeting will be held on:

Wednesday, June 22
Cathedral Hall, City of Hamilton
7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
*Light refreshments will be served

Points for discussion include:

– The hospitals’ remaining lifespan of approximately eight years and what this means for healthcare in Bermuda
– The possibility of developing campuses of care in the western, central and eastern parts of the island
– Site options for locating a new acute care hospital including the current KEMH site, Botanical Gardens and the Arboretum

“We strongly urge the community to attend this meeting to hear the estate master plan presentation first-hand and to contribute their feedback,” said Joan Dillas-Wright, Chief Executive Officer of the Bermuda Hospitals Board. “Community input is key as we determine the way forward for our hospitals, and it’s critical that the public is well-informed about these important issues that affect us all.”

A summary of the estate master plan presentation is available at www.bdahospitaldev.wpengine.com or by calling 441.239.2104. It may be helpful to review the presentation prior to this meeting.
