EMTs Will Launch Emergency Medical Services Week on Monday, May 16

Bermuda Hospitals Board will celebrate Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week beginning Monday, 16 May. Acting Minister of Health, The Hon. Michael Weeks, will officially launch this first-ever EMS Week with a press conference held at 10:00am in the lobby at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital (KEMH).

Following the press conference, an Open House will be hosted by Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) at the Springfield Parking lot on the corner of Berry Hill and Point Finger Roads. Members of the public are invited to meet with EMTs and view and tour emergency vehicles from the hospital, fire department and police service. The community is also invited to visit the lobby to view display boards and a presentation. An information table and quizzes will be available.

EMTs will host a series of information sessions for both healthcare professions and members of the public between 1:00pm and 2:00pm from Monday through Thursday at the Montrose Cottage class room, across from the Emergency Department. Session topics include Road Traffic Collisions, Road Safety, Gunshot Trauma and Tips on Helping EMTs.
